As we transition from summer to the school year here are some things we've found that help our mornings run a lot smoother.
1. Have a visual checklist. Not only will it keep kiddos on track, but it will build independence and confidence as they decide what to cross off next. Here's one that we laminated and put on our refrigerator with magnetic dry erase markers: Routine Chart
2. Have your kids pick out their outfits the night before. If their favorite shirt is dirty or they don't have clean socks you'll have time to wash or pick out something else.
3. Get your check list done before you scroll! We have found if we get ourselves ready and pack lunches before we grab our phones the morning seems a lot less chaotic.
4. Have easy breakfast items your kids can make without your help. Or make an extra batch of pancakes and eggs on the weekend that you can easily heat up and serve.
5. No tie shoe laces! We understand that having kids learn to tie their shoes is important so we still have a few pairs with laces, but having some slip on shoes can save a ton of time. These are especially great for the days you are running behind! Our favorite kind can be found here: No Tie Laces
